Not afraid of a little dirt
Mother Nature is anything but predictable. Today's corporate farms have more acres to manage spread over a larger geography. This requires equipment that is much larger than even a decade ago to be effective and productive. As equipment grows, so does the number of joints and the time spent greasing them.
Time is not a luxury when it comes to getting seed in the ground or crop harvested. Polygon has partnered with many of the top agricultural manufacturers to remove the burden and delay that frequent joint maintenance brings. When Mother Nature presents the window of opportunity, Polygon has allowed today's farmer to be immediately productive.
In 2012 Polygon supplied more than 2 million greaseless composite bearings to the agricultural equipment industry. The result is more than 300,000 hours that were spent working the land instead of manning a grease gun.
Maintenance Free, Never Needs Greasing
PolyLube composite bearings are used in many pieces of pull behind equipment. The majority of these joints are unsealed and all of them run dry. With the PolyLube line of products, customers can worry about field conditions, moisture content, and market prices rather than number of hours since the last round of greasing.
Learn how Polygon Company uses a self-lubricated liner with a high strength backing to eliminate the need for lubrication.
Won't Contaminants Score the Bearing without Grease Flushing?
A metal bearing would become scored and damaged without regular grease flushing. How does PolyLube avoid this?
Particles are moved from the load-bearing area of the bearing to lower pressure areas. The composite bearing’s modulus relative to the steel pin allows elastic deformation of the bearing to ultimately move the contamination out of the joint.
Polygon Company has been working with agricultural equipment OEM's to help their customers spend less hours greasing equipment so that time can be spent working their land. Below is an abbreviated general list of proven applications utilizing the PolyLube MRP Self-Lubricated composite bearings.
- Seed Openers
- Tool Bars
Foraging and Harvesting
- NH3 Openers
Carts & Spreaders
- Undercarriage Pivots
Customer Greasing and Warranty Claims
Maximize the time your farmers are in the field by eliminating the need for them to grease your equipment. How many times does a farmer skip greasing when the equipment needs maintenance just so he can get in the field and get work done before an impending storm? The implication of the farmer not greasing to squeeze in another hour of work is a potential warranty claim for you.
Reduce your warranty claims by eliminating the need to grease farm equipment wherever possible.
Our customers have commented that returned equipment is often greased only twice, once when it leaves the factory and once before it is loaded on the truck for the return. Don't rely on your customers to guard your warranty dollars. Protect their investment for them by using greaseless bearings from Polygon Company.
